Restaurante Peñalabra

Peñalabra is the restaurant of the rural hotel of the same name in the centre of Cervera, run by the same family since 1932. Santos César now heads the kitchen, taking over from his mother, Ángeles Bascones. The house speciality is snails, and the menu also features chickpea stew with squid and clams, Palencia-style vegetable menestra, garlic soup with fairy ring mushrooms, local Cervera beef and stuffed trout. There's a set lunch menu as well as à la carte, and never fewer than ten homemade desserts. It has two dining rooms, one opening onto the terrace.
